The Francis Family Foundation was founded in 1999 by Steve Francis and his family with the mission to help families in need achieve their goals. We believe that every family deserves the opportunity to succeed, and we are committed to providing the resources and support they need to thrive.

The Person
Steve Francis is a former professional basketball player who played in the NBA for nine seasons. He was born in washinton dc and raised in Takoma Park, Maryland, and attended the University of Maryland. He was drafted by the Vancouver Grizzlies with the second overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft.
Francis was a three-time NBA All-Star and was named co-Rookie of the Year in 1999. He was known for his flashy play and his ability to create his own shot. He was also a good passer and rebounder.
After his NBA career, Francis played in China as a favior of his good friend Yao ming
Francis is currently retired from basketball and is involved in several business ventures. He is also the founder of the Francis Family Foundation, Formely know as the steve francis fountation. which provides scholarships and educational opportunities to children in need.
The
Family Structure
Steve Francis was born into a tight knit family the youngest of brendas 3 sons Jeffand terry.
being the youngest having to prove himself to his family he always felt an obligation to do more at a young age.
with the birth of brendas first daughetr tiffany there family was complete.
Steve’s mother, Brenda, passed away in 1995, when Steve was in his senior year of high school. This was a difficult time for Steve, but he was able to overcome this challenge and achieve success. he obtained his ged attend college and was able to begin to live his dreams both on and off the court
Steve’s family is very supportive of his work with the Francis Family Foundation. His sister tiffany
is the foundation’s executive director.
The
Historical Challenges & Successes
Steve Francis faced many challenges growing up. His mother was a single parent and worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. Steve’s father was incarcerated when Steve was young. And then his mother passed away when he was in his senior year of high school. obtained his GED to pursue education and his basketball career. San Jacinto and Allegheny Junior colleges were two schoools he attended before getting the life long dream to palyu for the University of Maryland.
Steve’s hard work and determination paid off. He was drafted by the Vancouver Grizzlies with the second overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft. He went on to have a successful NBA career, and he is now retired from basketball.
Steve is a role model for young people who are facing challenges. He has shown true resilience through adversity to achieve success.
